Adventure
- Explore Charleston on a privately guided tour and live
Charleston's history as Charlestonians do every day. Highlights
include the Charleston Battery overlooking the Charleston Harbor
and Fort Sumter, colorful Rainbow Row and the many stately
mansions, buildings and churches, all of which have remained
very much the same since the colonial and antebellum days.

Plantation
Adventures

experience the life of the early planters of cotton and rice.

Middleton
Place
- Home of the prominent Middleton family
whose members included a president of the First Continental
Congress, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and a
signer of the Ordnance of Seccession. This National Historic
Landmark is famous for its fabulous gardens which were laid out
in 1741, making them the oldest landscaped gardens in America.
Drayton
Hall
- Held in the Drayton family for seven
generations, Drayton Hall (c. 1738) is the oldest and finest
surviving examples of Georgian Palladian architecture in the
South. Noted for its rich handcrafted detail, Drayton Hall is in
amazingly pristine condition.
Bluff
Plantation
- This 2,000-acre rice plantation is now a
wildlife sanctuary. Discover the natural world of Audubon,

is the site for the American season of the Spoleto, Italy Arts
Festival. Created by famed Italian composer, Gian Carlo Menotti,
the Spoleto Festival is a gathering of all the arts:
dance, music, poetry, opera, theatre, and visual arts
provide festival attendees with a "panoramic celebration of

Seminars

"Tengk
Gaud Fuh Chaa'stun" means "Thank God for
Charleston" in the Gullah language. Known as Charleston's
most distinctive voice, Gullah is a Lowcountry language based in
English with Creole and African influences. It is still spoken
in the Southeast, mostly in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
This entertaining and informative seminar is just one of many
